NTRQ Quest!

I thought I’d have a go at transcribing a track from Hero Quest to NTRQ. :)

Thought it might serve to illustrate how you might layout a whole track complete with arpeggios, duty mod, pitch slide, vibrato, auto-echo, tempo changes, different time signatures.

I don’t think I’ve done a proper song on NTRQ since it was released so it was good to see what the workflow is like and it’s given me a few ideas for improvement.

It was all done by ear/hand – no automatic conversion tool exists (or ever will!)

Annoyingly, during the editing, I had that bug resurface with modifying marked sections of a pattern where you end up with blank spaces (—) being changed into notes! So i fired up the 6502 assembler, turned on the debug stuff and then of course I couldn’t get it to happen again. Odd.

Anyway, here’s an MP3 of the resulting NTRQ version of Hero Quest and also the NTRQ .sav file.
